Once we have a deposit we will arrange a pre-visit for staff and the curriculum planning packs will be emailed to you.
Maths
These activities use the environment around us to help contextualise maths. The focus is on Measurement, Geometry and Statistics. Depending on your aims and time the activities can be done as a stand alone or in sequence to provide either an hour’s session or a full day.
KS1
Maths
Recognise and name 2D and 3D shapes, including their properties.
Interpret and construct simple pictograms, tally charts and tables.
Count and sort objects into categories and quantity.
Identify 2D and 3D shapes and their properties.
Estimate and compare acute, obtuse and reflex angles. Measure angle in degrees.
Interpret and construct a range of graphs and use these to solve problems.
Solve problems using the four operations.
Use and interpret algebraic notation
Derive and illustrate properties of triangles, quadrilaterals and circles.
Use the properties of faces, surfaces and edges to solve problems in 3D
Develop conceptual understanding and the ability to reason mathematically.
Using the wildlife pond and area as the focus, activities are based around identifying and classifying living things and their habitats. There are a selection of activities that can fill one hour, or a whole day! These activities include cross-curricular links to Maths and English.
